Distributed Management
Defining and maintaining CAD standards is often more work than a single person can perform effectively. This is especially true in organizations that are required to do design work using more than one CAD standard. Consequently, many organizations share standards administration among CAD managers, discipline leaders and other key personnel.
NetSPEX provides sophisticated tools for sharing CAD standards responsibilities. Administrator accounts can be defined in the NetSPEX standards database, and each administrator can be assigned specific privileges that determine the types of tasks he or she is allowed to perform using NetSPEX Administrator. NetSPEX administration tasks might include:
- Administrator Account Management
- Creating and Editing CAD Standards Sets
- Dependent Standards Management
- Workspace and Configuration Setup
- Mirror Server Management
- NetSPEX License Management
- Managing Deliverable Workspaces
- Importing and Exporting Standards Data
NetSPEX allows for the creation of super administrators who have full rights and access to all the tools in NetSPEX Administrator and to the entire NetSPEX database, including all of the standards, configurations, and workspace definitions. Super administrators also have the ability to create additional administrator accounts. Each account can be assigned specific privileges and responsibilities within NetSPEX.
